I made a Freedom of Information request two months ago. Why have I not received a response?

You should have received a response to your request within 45 days of the date the agency received it. Visit the Complaints section to find out what you can do.

If they are not going to give you access to the information you requested then you must be given a written reason. The letter from the agency should refer to the specific sections of the Freedom of Information Act that require the information to be withheld. The letter should also inform you of your appeal rights. If you have not heard from them, ring the agency and ask for the FOI Officer.
